The PRNC and the Education
Committee hosted a Towne Hall meeting at Shepherd of the Hills
Church to discuss education in Porter Ranch.
200 people attended. People were
able to ask Mr. Romer questions which were read to him by Becky
Leveque, PRNC President and moderator of the meeting. John
Lauritzen and Julie Korenstein from the LAUSD Board and
Councilman Greig Smith also fielded questions.

The
focus of the meeting was when LAUSD would
build a new school in Porter Ranch to meet
the growing population.

Porter Ranch has 1 elementary
school built for 400.
Currently 800 are enrolled.
In 5 years we will have 2,200 elementary
students.
Measure Y has passed
and the Education Committee will be focused on holding Mr. Romer
to his promise to build a new school in Porter Ranch.
