The Big Read is part of a nation-wide literacy program sponsored by the National Endowment of the Arts. In participation with the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, the Museum of the San Fernando Valley is one of several organizations presenting events and other interactive content influenced by the novel, Into the Beautiful North, by Luis Alberto Urrea. Influenced by the book's dual setting of Mexico and the United States, the festival will celebrate Latino culture and heritage in the San Fernando Valley. Come enjoy live music, culinary demonstrations, an exhibit of art & history, and interactive activities for children!
